Overview
New Zealand Crown entity established 1 April 1974 (under the Accident Compensation Act 1972) to administer the country's no-fault personal-injury compensation scheme. Its Investment Fund, built up over roughly 30 years to meet the future cost of injuries already sustained, stood at NZD 51.1 billion per ACC's 2025 Annual Report, having achieved average annual returns above 9% since inception. ACC has also committed capital externally, e.g. NZD 300 million to the Zealandia infrastructure/PPP fund.
