Pan-Asian life insurance group tracing its roots to American Asiatic Underwriters, founded in Shanghai in 1919 (renamed American International Assurance in 1947, headquartered in Hong Kong). AIA Group Limited, the current holding company, listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2010 after separating from AIG, and is the largest publicly traded life insurer in Asia-Pacific, headquartered at AIA Central, Hong Kong, with group AUM of approximately USD 255 billion as of 2025.
