Overview

The Angelicoussis Group, founded 1947 by Antonis I. Angelicoussis, is a privately held Athens-based shipping group spanning oil, gas, and dry-cargo markets through Maran Tankers Management, Maran Gas Maritime, Maran Dry Management, and (Stavanger-based) Maran Shuttle Tankers. Now led by third-generation Maria Angelicoussis (Greece's richest shipping magnate, ~$6bn fortune), who took over after her father John's 2021 death. The family's private investment firm, Nicrone, has recently pivoted toward publicly traded investments under former hedge-fund executive Laura Lavers.
