Overview
Bamberger Ranch Preserve (branded 'Selah'), a 5,500-acre ecological restoration project in the Texas Hill Country near Johnson City, was created in 1969 by J. David Bamberger (co-founder of Church's Fried Chicken), who donated the property and assets to a nonprofit in 2002. Restored the watershed and revived 11 dormant springs by replacing invasive Ashe juniper with native grasses.
