Overview

The European Investment Fund (EIF), founded 1994 by the European Commission, the European Investment Bank, and private financial institutions from 12 European countries, is the EIB's 'venture capital arm.' Operates across all EU member states plus candidate/associated countries, supporting SME access to finance via LP commitments to VC/PE funds (equity pillar) and credit-enhancement guarantees/securitization for SME lenders (guarantee pillar). Flagship mandates include InvestEU and TechEU.
