Overview

Ferd, established 2001 (successor to Tiedemanns Tobaksfabrik, acquired by the Andresen family in 1849; tobacco operations ceased 1998), is a family-owned Norwegian investment company now in its fifth/sixth generation under Johan H. Andresen and daughters Katharina and Alexandra Andresen. Organized across four business areas: Ferd Capital, Ferd External Managers, Ferd Real Estate, and Ferd Social Entrepreneurs -- the latter reflecting a deliberate evolution toward social-entrepreneurship investing alongside traditional value-creating ownership.
