Overview

Jacobs Holding AG, operating as a Swiss single family office for the Jacobs family since 1994 (founded by Klaus J. Jacobs, who took over the family coffee business in 1970 and built Jacobs Suchard, later restructured into Barry Callebaut), has held majority control (currently ~50.1%, after a 2025 partial sale) of Barry Callebaut AG since 1998, co-chaired by Nicolas and Philippe Jacobs. Diversifying beyond Barry Callebaut to broaden the income base for its sole economic beneficiary, the Jacobs Foundation -- targeting developed-economy companies with minimum equity stakes of CHF300M while avoiding political risk and unethical investments. Philippe Jacobs separately founded buyout/private-markets firm Telemos in 2017 (portfolio includes Lovehoney Group, Mammut Sports Group).
