Overview

Minerva Marine, founded 1996 in Athens by Andreas J. Martinos, is a private, family-owned tanker operator (~50 VLCCs/suezmaxes/aframaxes/MRs) with no IPO plans. The Martinos family has deep shipping roots -- Andreas's grandmother Athena Martinou founded Thenamaris in the 1960s -- and together with brothers Constantinos and Athanasios owns Greece's largest shipping fleet. Minerva Dry Inc., established 2020, extended the family's operations into Capesize dry-bulk shipping.
