Overview
NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development), established July 12, 1982 based on the Shivraman Committee's recommendations, is a Government of India development bank mandated to facilitate credit flow for agriculture, rural development, and small-scale/cottage/village industries. Provides direct financing and refinancing to state co-operative banks, regional rural banks, and commercial banks, and funds rural infrastructure (roads, bridges, irrigation, storage) via its Rural Infrastructure Development Fund.
