Overview
SIDBI, established April 2, 1990 under an Act of Parliament (originally a wholly owned subsidiary of IDBI Bank, delinked March 2000), is India's Principal Financial Institution for the promotion, financing, and development of the MSME sector. Provides refinance to banks/financial institutions and direct term/working-capital lending to small-scale industries, and coordinates the functions of other institutions engaged in similar MSME-development activity.
