ASX-listed Brisbane-headquartered insurance group (AAMI, GIO, Apia, Bingle, Vero, Shannons, Asteron Life NZ) formed 1 December 1996 via merger of Suncorp, Metway Bank and Queensland Industry Development Corporation. Now insurance-only after completing the sale of Suncorp Bank to ANZ on 31 July 2024. Holds an internal investment book (insurance float + shareholder funds, FY25 total investment returns A$766m) but no single confirmed total-portfolio AUM figure was found -- left unconfirmed rather than estimated.
