Overview

Tsakos Shipping and Trading, founded 1970 in Athens by Captain Panagiotis N. Tsakos, has diversified well beyond shipping into shipbuilding, ship repair, ferry services, oil exploration, real estate, agriculture, eco-forestry, natural mineral water, and renewable energy. Son Nikolas Tsakos joined the family firm in the mid-1980s and in 1993 established the group's separately listed tanker arm, Tsakos Energy Navigation.
