California Cultured

Overview

California Cultured makes cell-cultured cocoa and chocolate ingredients by growing cacao plant cells in bioreactors, avoiding traditional cacao farming and deforestation. Founded by Alan Perlstein and Steven Stearns, it went through IndieBio's 11th accelerator cohort and partnered with Meiji in 2024.
