Overview

Innoblative Designs makes SIRA, an FDA-cleared radiofrequency-ablation device used intra-operatively to destroy residual cancerous tissue after breast-tumor removal, reducing the need for reoperation and radiation therapy. Developed by a Northwestern University surgeon-and-student team, it was a 2013 VentureWell E-Team that received a $50K VentureWell investment.
